Donna Brassard is a graduate of St. Lawrence University, located in Canton, New York, with a degree in English and Journalism. She has many years of experience in the publishing, marketing and advertising industry.
Brassard has worked in advertising sales for publications in New York City such as “Better Homes & Gardens”, “Early American Life”, “Country Home”, and “Country Journal” before relocating back to her native New England. Brassard described the New York publishing industry in the 1980’s for Stevoe.

From 1994-1999, Brassard was the associate publisher at the Worcester Business Journal in Worcester, Massachusetts. Prior to her promotion to associate publisher Brassard was the ad sales manager.
Brassard has been the publisher of Mainebiz since 1999. Since that time the paper has grown from three employees to 17, and revenues have more than quadrupled. Brassard described her role as publisher for Stevoe, the importance of diversifying your products in the print industry, and how the goal of Mainebiz is to dazzle the reader.
Mainebiz is Maine’s award-winning, multi-media business news source. They publish a biweekly print publication (Mainebiz), e-news including “The Daily Report” and the “Portland Report”. They also have several annual publications “Book of Lists”, “Fact Book”, “Golf Guide”, the “Meeting & Event Planning Guide”, the “Women to Watch”, and the “Business Leaders of the Year”.
